a very long overdue update....

Our beautiful babies are now 11 months old ( well Harrison and Anastasia are and Oliver is over 10 months).... so hard to believe! The time is flying and they are all growing so fast... I am staggered at the changes that seem to occur on an almost daily basis.
Some facts about the trio... Anastasia was the first to crawl and she is like a little rocket darting all over the place at a rapid rate of knots! We think that she burns up so much energy and as a result she is the lightest... even though she eats as much as the boys... she weighed 8.2 kilos 2 weeks ago. She is now standing without holding anything and thinks she is sooo clever but still not game to take that first step. She is the best eater in that she will eat whatever you put in front of her and loves to feed herself and has a liking for olives!
Harriosn became very impatient and yelled and bellowed till he eventually managed to go forward with his crawling. He has finally gotten some speed up but tends to crawl with his head down so bumps into things... ouch!He hates feeding himself and though he eats well is more selective and not as willing to try new things as his sister. He weighed in at 9.8 kilos yesterday and feels alot heavier.....can really say he has heavy bones. As a result he hates trying to stand and so comes up to you and kneels till you lift him upright.
Our little Oliver is a delight and seemed to be destined not to crawl been happy just to rotate around and roll to places.... then last 2 weeks he up and started going forward.. it was like he was waiting till he had it worked out and then he would do it. He loves standing upright and gets very excited when you pick him up. He loves his dessert though he is now enjoying most things and enjoys trying to feed himself.... vegemite sandwiches are a big hit with all of them. Two weeks ago he weighed a big 8.6 so trying to catchh up with his brother!

Sleeping is mostly okay... except we still have a few dummy runs during the night for the boys. The last week has been rough though as we have everyone teething.. Harrison is working on #7&8 while Anastasia is working on #3,4,5 &6! Oliver is about to have # 5&6 pop through.

Their personalities are just so amazing to watch develop... they are such different individuals and all so delightful and the joy they find in each other is lovely to watch. They get a plastic cup and blow into it and then burst into squeals of laughter at each other. Harrison is such a boy and throws things everywhere but really loves his cuddles. Anastasia is such a little princess, putting her hand up to check her hair( the little she has) and then when she gets cranky clenches her fists and growls at you between her teeth! Oliver is such a studiuos and observant little fellow... he always seems to be assessing how things work and how to make them work .. then he burst into laughter when he gets it! They love their swimming and any kind of time outside and all love music often bopping away to songs.
So now for some recent photos :) We have been very lucky and have had some visitors recently. First we had another set of triplets come and visit...they are nearly 3 months older than ours and you could see the difference... they were so active and into everything.. it was a great lesson on getting prepared for when our 3 get to that stage! They are so cute and we had a great time watching the 6 interact.
When I was 17 I was very fortunate to spend a year on an exchange to Wisconsin and stay with a wonderful family. I have alwys kept in touch and consider them as part of my extended family. My mom and 2 of my sisters came to visit and meet the trio and we had a fantastic week with them sharing in all the fun things that the trio love doing,... swimming, going out to eat and even baby bounce at the library!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I know we are a bit late but would like to say Happy New Year to everyone. We tried (but not too hard) to stay up and see the year in but knowing that we would be woken by our delightful trio at some ungodly hour we were abed by 10pm! We have had a very busy month in December having travelled down to Brisbane in the first week and then drove a very long 1000 kilometers to spend Christmas break with grandparents and family. We have spent a lovely ( but hot!) 2 weeks with grandparents who have delighted in getting to know their grandkids. We even had a full night away from the trio as a surprise gift for us.. a stay at the local casino for the night. It felt very strange not hearing the babies or having to attend to them... but misssed them terrible!( and only called 3 times to see how they were going....lol)
Some facts about the trio... Harrison got 2 front teeth on Christmas day.... yep we all sang the song "all I want for Xmas is my 2 front teeth" He was surprisingly unfazed and wasn't terrible distressed by the event. Our little princess Anastasia is officially crawling... she gets so excited though she often reverts to flapping... and then she growls till she gets moving again. She is also the speed queen in the walkers.... she is going to be a real handful later when she gets mobile! Oliver is still the chilled out baby... he really enjoys slowly assessing things and then decides if he likes it or not or if he will do it... like the walkers.... now he tries to run away from you laughing as he goes!
Solids are a part of life now with them having 3 meals aday... Oliver really loves the sweet stuff and will adamently shake his head and close his mouth till he gets desert. We have had to resort to all sorts of trickery to get him to eat the savoury stuff... alternating sweet/savoury, giving him his own spoon, ect! Harrison will eat anything and latches onto the spoon with a snap while Anastasia will eat most but would rather be feeding herself.
On the sleeping we are doing mostly great... though lately Harrison thinks it is time to get up and play at 4.30 am! Trying desperately to get him to go back to sleep and often he will for 20-30 minutes but then starts again wanting to play. We put up with this untl about 5.45 -6am and then I get them out for their morning bottle... would love to know how to get them to sleep until 7 am! But as they go to bed between 6-6.30 I can't complain. We do have the occasional wakeup and dummy run but most nights are great.
Well now for the fun part .... photos of our trio :)
For those who saw our entry in December 2010 you will now see the same rockers... with the best Christmas present we have ever recieved.

Wow... we are over 7 months!

Well it has been awhile since I posted so below are some recengt photos and a bit of a blurb

Us with our Nanna-Anna... she spent 1 month with us and it was great!

It is hard to believe that the trio are so big now... they all were seen by the specialist 2 weeks ago who gave them the thumbs up .. in fact said that Harrison has definitely caught up and would no longer be seen as a premmie bub as he is in the 50% for his age... weighing in at 7.8 kilos. Miss Anastasia is trailing in the stats... only in the 10% so needs to be kept an eye on..... even though she has physically beaten the boys at milestones.. she weighs in at a dainty 6.6 kilos. Oliver is doing great and is between the 25-50% with a weight of 7.6 and he is rolling better than the other 2... he can go either way and just rolls wherever he wants!
The amount of joy and happiness they continue to give is amazing.... they are really such happy, contented babies and we rarely have any times of discontent. The individual characters of each child is becoming more and more obvious... and they are such unique and lovable traits. Oliver was having great delight the other day.... I came in to find him squeesing Harrison on the arm and then smiling when Harrison let out a squeak... " It makes a noise mummy!" He was really happy with that toy! ( Not sure Harrison thought much of it!) Anastasia is sooo close to crawling... she gets up on her knees and rocks and then flaps her arms( swimming!) Harrison just bellows when he finds himself stuck.. he can go backwards and ends up under all the toys as a result. They all love their swimming and have great breathe control... even dived down to pick up a toy today! They are now all having 3 meals aday with Oliver showing a great sweet tooth... in fact he was refusing his vegies and crying till he got dessert( apple, pear or banana) which he and I had words about... now he eats his dinner that follows up with something sweet. we manage 2 naps a day with them sleeping for about 1 hour in the morning after breakfast and then for 1-2 hours after lunch .... but the best thing is that they are all sleeping thru the night! They go to bed at 6pm following dinner and last bottle and then they get up at 5.30 am ( was 4.30 till I put black carboard on the windows!) so we are all getting decent sleeps.. it is bliss! I hope this will last but as we have no teeth yet( yes that is correct... not one single tooth in any mouth!) I am sure this won't last long.

Well some photos of the trio .. we sat on Santa's lap too this week! And we have graduated to sitting forward in the car.... yay

Just some photos

Well we are now 5 months + and so full on. Finding it difficult to find time to do any blogging but thought some photos will make everyone happy. They continue to be a delight and amazingly contented babies... we are working on sleeping thru the night but feel mummy should see at least one of us overnight! We have started solids... love sweet potatoe! And we are no longer happy just to lay on our playmat... we want up and action! we have started our swimming lessons as well and love the water!

13 weeks plus!

Well Harrison and Anastasia are 13 weeks and Oliver is 10 weeks old! Time has really flown and they are all growing and changing so much.... Harrison looks like a little boy now and Oliver is gorgeous with lovely cubby cheeks. Anastasia has a most delightful smile and loves to coo and laugh at us! They were all weighed last Friday with Harrison been 4.7, Anastastia been 4.5 and Oliver coming up rapidly at 4.3 kilos. All of them have more than doubled their birth weight and are getting so long as well... we are moving from 000 to 00 in some outfits!
We have had a very busy 6 weeks since we arrived back in Australia.... settling into a new house and then a road trip of 1000 kilometers to attend a wedding.... and spend a week with Justin's parents who had a great time bonding with our trio. It was love at first sight by their grandad as this was the first them he had seen them apart from skype. It was a wonderful week with everyone spoiling our three and paying them heaps of attention... and they dressed up beautifully for the wedding. When I can I will post the photos but for now here are our 3 just kicking back on the playgym.

Internet... well intermittently anyway!

Anastasia, Oliver and Harrison
Well I know it has been a while since we posted and a lot has happened in that time. We are now firmly ensconced in our new home in Australia and have packing boxes everywhere! The nursery was slowly set up with all 3 babies sharing one cot for 1 week until I got around to assembling the other 2 cots. Now they all sleep in their own beds ( but as the room is cosy they are still close to each other!).
We have been to the doctor and Harrison and Anastasia recieved their 2 month shots(yep hard to think that they are 2 months already) and thankfully had no adverse reactions whatsoever... I was dreading it as wondered how we would cope with distress babies for days on end. It was a complete family affair to go to the doctor... daddy, nanna and nandad had to attend to lend assistance and support as this was our first real outing here. Daddy got upset when his girl got her injections as he was holding her...think he would have gladly swapped so she didn't have to cry. Oliver is trying so hard to catch up to the other 2 .... he is drinking as much as them and tries to stay awake as long as they do..but still gets referred to as our little one. They have all put on weight with Harrison now a whopping 3.7, Anastasia 3.5 and Oliver 3.1 kilos which we are very happy about. Still waiting for them to sleep through though.... lol a bit early yet!
Some photos of our beautiful babies :)
